Most people understand the importance of having a great morning routine. If you are looking for the perfect morning routine ideas then keep on reading! I’ve put together the best morning routine checklist ever!
This post is going to give you the best ideas for a perfect morning routine.
The Perfect Morning Routine:
1. Wake Up Early | Morning Routine List
The day starts when you wake up. Most millionaires would agree that the earlier you wake up, the more likely you are to accomplish all of your goals for the day.
You can get a lot of things done before most of the world is even awake! That’s such a boss move!
What Time Should You Wake Up?
The rule of thumb for people trying to seize the day before everyone else is to wake up at least 2 hours before you need to either leave for work or start working.
Personally, I wake up at 5:02 am. Why 5:02? Haha! It’s really because I feel like 5 am is too sudden and predictable. I love being unpredictable!
Anyway! In order for me to get to my full-time job on time, I need to leave by 7:10 am.
Waking up 2 hours before you need to leave gives you A LOT of time to get things done before becoming busy.
If you don’t start working until 9 am and you wake up 2 hours before that point, you’ll only be waking up at 7 am. See, you don’t have to wake up stupid early if you don’t need to.
Unfortunately, I’m one of those people that need to wake up at 5 am, and I am NOT a morning person… so it’s definitely a struggle most days.

2. Immediately Make Your Bed | Productive Daily Routine
If you’re trying to build a great habit, I highly recommend fixing your bed immediately after you get up. It jump-starts your brain by informing it that you’ve already completed a daily task literally 5 seconds after getting up.
The only reason it has become apparent that making your bed is a great habit to develop is because of this extremely popular book everyone has been reading. I purchased it as well!

3. Drink Water | Healthy Morning Routine
Now, there are a plethora of benefits that come from simply drinking water!
To name a few benefits:
- helps maximize physical performance
- affects energy levels and brain function
- promotes weight loss,
- and flushes toxins
Imagine starting your day off with drinking water. All the benefits listed above can completely turn your health life around! It really is a win-win!
Try warming the water and adding sliced lemon OR lemon juice concentrate to the cup. It really boosts your metabolism more than simply drinking water.
4. Brush Your Teeth
This is a given. Brush your teeth to ensure a fresh breath and clean teeth! While brushing my teeth, I typically walk around and open the windows, and/or look at my vision board while brushing.
Some people brush their teeth after eating, but I find that my mouth feels gross if I don’t brush before eating for some reason. Do what feels good to you.
5. Meditate
Be sure to time how long you’re meditating for. Now, meditating isn’t for everyone. It can definitely help relieve stress and anxiety, mentally prepare for the day, and give you time to visualize your goals.
There are different ways to meditate. You can do more research to figure out which meditation technique works for you.
After doing some research myself, I found this website to be the most helpful resource.

6. Workout
Doing a workout in the morning helps get your body moving and blood flowing right away. Whether you go to the gym, go for a run, walk, or do yoga moving your body first thing in the morning has a plethora of health benefits necessary for a healthy morning routine.
If you’re wondering, I watch yoga videos on Youtube and do it along with them. Yoga With Adrien is one of my favorite Youtube Channels to do yoga along with. Love her! She has over 10 million subscribers! I highly recommend it.
Here is the link to her channel if you’re interesred in checking her out.
Not only does yoga stretch your body and get the blood flowing, it tremendously improves your mood and releases endorphins which is another win in my book!
7. Shower
After getting your body up and moving and potentially sweating, it’s best to go ahead and shower to clean yourself and get ready for the next phase of your morning.
While in the shower, you can use this time to do your skincare routine and set some intentions for the day. I also like to listen to motivational podcasts from the time I’m in the shower to walking out of the door to work.
Listening to podcasts has helped me so much on my journey of self-motivation and self-care. If you’re interested in some of the top motivational podcasts, leave a comment below. I got you!
8. Moisturize Body | Productive Daily Routine
Once you start moisturizing your body daily, you’ll definitely begin to notice a difference when you skip moisturizing.
There are all sorts of benefits that come with moisturizing. I mean, it retains moisture in your body and promotes glowy skin.
It even helps with anti-aging and prevents wrinkling! So basically, don’t skip this step!
9. Get Dressed For The Day
Are you working from home? Are you heading to an office? Do you work at a place where you’ll see a lot of people?
Either way, you need to get dressed… even if you’re staying home. Of course you don’t have to put on your best outfits and uncomfortable clothes if you’re staying home, but getting dressed to stay home tricks your brain and gets you in the mood mentally to have a workday or something to do.
10. Add Jewelry And/Or Makeup
I always throw on some jewelry even if I’m staying home. Personally, I like the way wearing jewelry makes me feel. If you’re not into wearing jewelry, skip this step.
If you wear makeup daily, now is the time to apply it. I don’t wear makeup if I know I’m going to be home all day, but if I’m heading to my full-time job or out for a social gathering, I like to wear it.
Just do you! Either apply this step or go on to the next item on this morning routine checklist.
11. Eat Breakfast | Healthy Morning Routine
There are a lot of people out there in the world who like to skip this step. You shouldn’t! It’s one of the MOST IMPORTANT things you should do in the morning.
There are so many health benefits that are tied to eating breakfast in the morning. In fact, it’s one of the top personal habits you need to do to start the day! There is research proving and explaining why this step is so important.

Don’t just drink coffee and go! (Note to self 😅)
12. Get To Work | Morning Routine For Work
By this point, you should be ready to head out of the door to your job. If you work from home and are trying to become productive, now is the time to begin the next phase of your day.
You’ve already done so much while everyone was asleep. Now is the time to go out and seize the day!
Notice that we haven’t spent any time on social media since waking up. If you’re into checking social media in the morning, this would be a great time to complete that task.
I find that starting the day by checking social media takes the focus off of you and puts it on whoever or whatever you’re looking at on the internet.
Use this morning time to focus on yourself. You won’t regret it!
