I always like to begin by stating what’s currently going on in the world. As mentioned earlier, Forbes stated that 94% of Millenials made “personal improvement commitments” to change their lives.
94%! That’s obviously a huge percentage of people!
We are all on a journey of self-discovery. The more you improve, the more opportunities that come your way. You can improve your communication skills, your time management skills, or even simply change up your morning routine.
Millennials spend almost a fortune on “self-care” programs and routines. I think I am one of those people.
I’ve purchased so many books that have completely CHANGED MY LIFE, it’s hard to stop at just ONE book or ONE program when you directly see the benefits of engaging in these kinds of tasks and information.
Speaking of books, 62.5% of the buyers of self-help books are women.

The Top Personal Growth Goals Examples
1. Set goals for yourself
You know, setting goals for yourself isn’t as easy as one may think. You have to begin with the end in mind. Think of where you’d like to be and scale back from there.
If your end goal is to be a famous musician, scale back from there and begin taking lessons or practicing the skill. Write down a list of things you must do first to successfully step into the role of a musician.
Make sure these goals aren’t too far-fetched or you will not complete the goal or even come close because you’re aiming well beyond what you are capable of at the moment. I’m not saying to not dream big, but just be reasonable.
2. Set deadlines for when you want to achieve your goals
Setting deadlines for yourself is extremely important! You have to know where you want to be each month and what you need to do to get there each month.
I would suggest creating a list of things you did in the past and creating a list of goals for things you’d like to do moving forward. For example, my goal was to build an emergency fund in my bank account by August.
The first thing I had to do was write down how much I wanted my emergency fund to have, and how much money I had currently.
I then calculated how much I would need to put into the emergency fund each month to reach my goal by the date that I decided.
Now each month I have a target/goal to aim for.

3. Develop your skills or increase your knowledge
Is there something you wish you knew how to do? Go out and learn whatever it is you would like to know.
Attaining more skills and knowledge makes you more marketable and a good asset to friend groups, companies, or businesses.
4. Measure your progress
Going back to my financial plan of creating an emergency fund, at the end of each month, I measure how much I have in my bank accounts, how much I have in the emergency fund, how much I owe, and what my monthly/yearly goals are (to serve as a constant reminder).
Measuring my progress has completely changed everything. I look forward to having a “finance date” with myself and figuring out what’s going on in my life monetarily.
If you don’t have money goals, you can also measure weight loss, water intake, the number of books read, or any goal you’re trying to achieve.
5. Stop procrastinating
If your goals don’t make you want to get up and work then maybe your goals aren’t as important to you as they should be.
Minimize distractions, attack the huge tasks first, and watch how much more productive you’ll be and how your procrastination will cease to exist.

6. Develop one habit per month
This goal is trickier for me because I feel like I try to set all of my habits at once. Focusing on only 1 habit neglects the other positive habits you need to maintain.
However, coming up with one daily habit per month keeps your life moving forward in hopes of achieving your goals.

7. Develop self-confidence
Self-confidence causes you to expect to succeed. It allows you to take risks and set challenging goals. Having self-confidence helps you keep trying if at first, you don’t succeed.
It’s way easier to say, “gain self-confidence” than to actually have it. Gaining self-confidence happens slowly over time. I don’t think you’ll wake up one day and say, ” I have self-confidence!” I think it just happens.
The more you work on yourself and do things to improve your life, such as following this list, the more confident you’ll be in yourself and your abilities.

Remember the number of people in the world who are also on a personal growth journey and know that doing these things isn’t always easy to do or maintain.
There are going to be times when you feel like giving up and taking the easy route in life, but instead of stopping, remember why you started.
Never give up! It’s been said over and over that people often give up RIGHT BEFORE making a major breakthrough or reaching the goal they were planning for. Don’t let that be you!
