Are you interested in starting your own blog? Learn from people who are currently out there making passive income from their blogs. I have been blogging for some time now and am ready to share with you my monthly blog report for the month of March. Did I make money?
In January of 2022, I decided to start blogging seriously in hopes of building a business and making passive income.
It has been a journey, to say the least! I’ve been setting goals, tracking my progress, and trying new strategies. I am a full-time teacher and have been balancing both things. I’m treating this endeavor like a job as well.
I am now ready to sit down and talk about how month THREE went. TBH, I can’t even believe I’m on month 3. Let’s see what my goals were for the month and find out if I hit my mark.

This post is all about my monthly blog goals and report.
Monthly Blog Goals | March
As mentioned earlier, I am still very new to the blogging world. I am documenting what I have been doing and keeping track of what worked and what needs to improve.
Now, I am by no means making a salary sort of income from blogging, BUT I have been seeing a shift in things and growth happening over time.
A lot has changed in my strategy as I tried new things throughout the month.
March Monthly Blog Goals
- 1000 sessions on website
- 2000 pageviews
- Make at least $5 through Google Ads
- Get at least 2 more affiliate sales through my affiliate links
- 90k monthly views on Pinterest
- The main goal is: GETTING MORE EYES ON MY CONTENT
I have these goals written down in my bullet journal and all over my blogging binder. As I sit here and look over these goals, I realize now that I didn’t reach many of them… wow! But I do not feel discouraged at all.
Let’s talk about what happened.
1000 sessions on website
I haven’t reached this goal yet! This has been a huge goal of mine since the beginning. The more eyes on your content, the more money you are likely to make.
I am halfway there though! As of today, I have had 444 sessions for the month of March. Having a lot of sessions gets you accepted into larger ad agencies as well. The top ad agency requires you to have a minimum of 10,000 sessions per month… I’ll get there! This is only the beginning!
Get 2000 pageviews
Not quite… I have been able to reach at least 1000 pageviews consistently- which is great (if only those could be the same as sessions).
Right now, my site has reached 1,060 page views this month!
Make at least $5 through Google Ads
Making money from doing this would be cool! That’s the goal in fact. I feel like I was aiming pretty low with this goal and guess what? As of today, I didn’t reach that goal either.
I believe it has a lot to do with my page view count and sessions. As mentioned before, the more page views and sessions, the more money you can make from ads. Everything kind of declined this month and I think it has a lot to do with algorithms changing (more on that later).
Get at least 2 affiliate sales through my affiliate links
I’ve had a few link clicks but not many sales. So far I’ve only had one commission-based sale. Now, I’ve been doing a lot of research this month on having a side business and what I’ve discovered is the amount of time these things take.
It’s why I don’t feel discouraged about anything because I can see growth within myself and my business, and I also recognize the fact that these things do not happen overnight.
I’m doing pretty well actually considering the fact that I’m only 3 months in. 1000 pg views in 3 months? Nice!
90k monthly views on Pinterest
This has been the absolute worst month for me where Pinterest is concerned. Pinterest went through a huge update and changed everything. My impressions dropped significantly! I had been doing the same strategy and things were growing.
Now everything changed. I’m in a Facebook group and everyone is kind of going through the same thing. I’m trying out a new strategy. I will change the number of posts I publish weekly and change my Pinterest strategy.
Right now I have 35.26k monthly impressions. That’s like half of what it was last month. Thanks, Pinterest algorithm! Not worried, I’ll try a new strategy and will happily report to you all how it goes next month.
Bonus goal
Last month, I started an email list. It was unexpected. I started it at the beginning of February. As of today, I have 15 total subscribers to my email list! It has increased by 10 people since last month. THANK YOU!
So, I tried something else this month. PODCASTING! I started a podcast called Young and Unafraid and now have uploaded 2 episodes. My podcast is available on both Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

Blogging Monthly Income Report
Google Adsense: $1.85
Yep! That’s it! I’m okay with that for now.
What’s next?
My goals for next month are basically the same goals as this month. I want to try to reach these goals and maybe even go beyond them.
- 1000 sessions on website
- 2000 pageviews
- Make at least $5 through Google Ads
- Get at least 2 more affiliate sales through my affiliate links
- 90k monthly views on Pinterest
- The main goal is: GETTING MORE EYES ON MY CONTENT
I’ll be back at the end of April to let you know what happened! Having monthly blog reports and updates are super helpful! It lets me see exactly what went well and what didn’t! We all know that having a definite goal is a sure way to make things happen in your life.
I am definitely looking forward to the future of this blog!
