Take everyday mundane routines and transform them into something more to create a luxury lifestyle. What do I mean? Keep reading to find easy ways to add luxury to your life.
“Some people think luxury is the opposite of poverty. It is not. It is the opposite of vulgarity.” – Coco Chanel
What does it mean to be vulgar? Google defines it as lacking good taste or sophistication. It also gave a similar definition saying that being vulgar can mean a characteristic of or belonging to the masses.
We tend to associate luxury with the highly elite. Well, good news! You can add luxury to your life too! It’s in the simple things that we do that we have the power of changing today to live a more luxurious life.
If you want to live a luxurious lifestyle, read these most common practices to help you implement the luxury lifestyle aesthetic into your own life.
This post is all about adding a luxury lifestyle to your life.
The Luxury Lifestyle Aesthetic
1. Create a luxurious morning & night routine
It’s the simple things in life that we can tweak to add luxury to our daily lives.
Do you have a solid morning routine? Beyond making things luxurious, most millionaires and billionaires harp on the importance of having a morning routine.
Add luxury to your life by using 10 minutes in the morning to truly focus on your skincare routine or doing your hair or makeup. Think of what you can add to this experience to make it more luxurious.

2. Add luxury to simple pleasures
You’ll notice that the overall message is to add luxury to the simple things- the things you do so often you don’t consider to be luxurious activities.
These things can include:
- Watching TV with a glass of wine
- Taking a walk and watching the sunset
- Giving yourself a bubble bath
- Buying a weekly bouquet of flowers
- Adding luxury to your skincare routines (morning and night)
In the realm of buying yourself a bouquet of flowers, this simple task can certainly elevate your home and add luxury easily.
A pro tip is to buy a larger bouquet of flowers and divide them up and put them in different vases around your place.
I tried this idea recently and adding roses to my bathroom changed my bathroom experience! Really. You should try putting flowers or plants around your home.
3. Plan/schedule time to indulge
How often do you add events to your calendar that are solely for you? The events that cater to your self-care are the events that I speak of. Don’t forget to plan fun things too!
You can make reservations at a fancy restaurant and treat yourself that way. Do you drink coffee? Look up high-end coffee places and have a coffee date there.
Solo dates are cool. I’ve done a few of them. It’s only awkward in the beginning. After you cross the threshold of, “well, I’m here now.” It’s done. Just move on and enjoy your time.
You don’t need to be in a relationship to schedule date night things or dates in general. Pick a good friend or a few and do some of these things with them.
4. Get your looks on lock
Typically people who live a luxury lifestyle often pay great care to their maintenance. Hair, nails, eyebrows, skin, outfits- well-groomed people are easy to spot.
If you want to feel good on the inside and look good on the outside, be sure to pay attention to your outfit selections, makeup application, and overall appearance.
Now, don’t misunderstand the concept. Looks aren’t everything. You can have a beautiful house on the outside with moldy walls on the inside.
Don’t find yourself looking beautiful on the outside while having a rotten soul on the inside. Look good and be good as well.

5. Find a signature scent
Pro tip: Men absolutely LOVE a good-scented woman. Trust me! I had a conversation with a group of men once about their views on fragrance and cologne.
It was a resounding, “YESSS! I LOVE WHEN THE SCENT IS STRONG! I LOVE THAT SHIT!”
In all honesty, this bit caught me by surprise because I figured they would prefer a more subtle approach. I’ve come to realize that the subtle approach is just MY preference.
Surely there are going to be men out there who don’t want to smell you so much, but the majority would prefer for you to smell good.
A perk to finding a signature scent is keeping people on lock. If they come across this scent they’ll think of you even when you’re not there.
6. Invest in quality items
Quality beats quantity every time. In the realm of achieving a luxury lifestyle, it is important to keep all of your belongings in good shape.
I’m not necessarily saying to buy the most expensive items you can find. You must, however, make sure that the items you do purchase are of good quality- items that can last for years rather than a few months.
I am still researching where to go and how to find luxury items, how to know quality when you see it, and what are the trusted brands. Feel free to leave a comment below if you have any answers!
7. Prioritize the importance of healthy living
This one step alone can potentially add a ton of luxury to your life. Not only does maintaining a healthy lifestyle promote a longer lifespan, but it also creates opportunities to do what the rich do.
Try doing yoga or a spin class. Make sure to exercise regularly and eat well to feel well.

8. Time-block your days
This is a game-changer! Have you ever heard of this productivity hack? Let me tell you! Time-blocking your days give you more control over them.
Sit down and decide what time you are the most productive and do your most important tasks during that time.
Once the time you scheduled for the task is up, go on to the next thing.
It’ll help you realize several things:
- How long it takes you to complete certain tasks
- When you’re actually the most productive (You may be surprised!)
- How much time you’re wasting
You may end up needing more time to complete tasks than you realize, OR you’ll finish the tasks with time to spare. That’s when things get interesting!

9. Attend regular spa appointments
You know for sure that rich people keep themselves on lock. Typically when thinking of a luxury lifestyle, you may think of the soft life. People in bathrobes with cucumbers on their eyelids at the spa.
If you save up, getting a facial or a massage can be doable. Aim to get it once a month if you can afford it.
If you can’t afford to keep up with this, you can either treat yourself to this experience at least once (birthday present/Galentines Day) or you can pamper yourself at home.

10. Exercise daily
This tip goes hand-in-hand with prioritizing a healthy lifestyle, but I want to strongly urge the importance of actively taking care of your body.
You must! It’s the vessel that makes living a luxurious lifestyle possible. You can’t possibly live a luxurious lifestyle while your health is deteriorating by your own doing.
Don’t start taking care of yourself when you’re in the hospital for health reasons. Avoid this, live a healthy life, add luxury and you’ll be on your way!
In closing,
Living a luxury lifestyle is not for everyone. It does take a little work on your part, but once you unlock this level of luxury living, you’ll feel bliss and ease.
Take care of yourself! We only get one life as far as I know, so let’s maximize the time we have. Treat yourself and don’t feel bad for it!
